Creating Cozy

It's almost that time! If you're not celebrating just yet, we're talking about holiday time. Cool, crisp weather (not cold - we're still in Texas, after all), flames dancing in the fireplace, fuzzy socks, hot cocoa and that cozy feeling. Humans inherently gravitate towards coziness; it makes us feel warm, safe and relaxed. At Staging Dallas, our job is to create coziness in the home. It's part of what makes home staging so successful!

Today, we're going to share with you some of our home staging secrets to give you the tools to create the ultimate cozy space in your place.

Soft Textures

Soft textures might be the fundamental of coziness. We're known to incorporate several throw pillows and a throw blanket to make it extra inviting to cuddle up and get comfortable.

Elements of Nature

You may be incorporating elements of nature in your home without realizing that you're doing it. It's statistically proven that humans feel more at ease when immersed in nature. So what is the "natural" thing to do? Bring the outside to the inside. Natural wood, neutral colors and organic materials inhabit coziness, because it's what we crave at the core.

"Mood" Lighting

We are putting quotes around "mood" because it's not really "mood" lighting, rather just good lighting. Most, if not all, homes come with overhead lighting which can make us feel more insecure and stressed. Setting lamps up around the room will create a softer glow and a warmer feeling. Don't be afraid to light a candle, too!

Togetherness

Poising the room to make room for others is prime coziness. Set up the furniture close together to enjoy the fire, watch a movie or to just enjoy each other's company!
