A Five Star Kitchen Without a Five Star Budget
The kitchen. La cocina. La cuisine. It's that one room in the house that really can make or break the decision of the potential home buyer. Does it have one stove or two? Is the sink deep enough? Are the stovetops electric or gas? Are the countertops in style? And the thing is, any one of these aforementioned aspects are not cheap. You are about to move out of this home, and you don't want to spend money on making it the dream kitchen you will never get to enjoy.
So, don't replace or do expensive upgrades! There are a few small and inexpensive fixes and updates you can do to your existing kitchen that will wow the potential homebuyer.

1. Paint the cabinets
This is probably the biggest suggestion of them all. Dark is out, light is in. Grab a paintbrush and get a light color to give your cabinets new life! This will make the space brighter and lighter and more appealing to potential homebuyers.
2. Hang a new light fixture
Light fixtures, like everything else, go in and out of style. If yours is outdated or perhaps, but hopefully not, unflattering florescent, it would be a good idea to go out to Home Depot, invest $30-$90 on a new fixture. It's cheap but insanely effective.
3. Replace outlet wall plates
Who said you can't have a little fun with outlet plates? This can add some pizzaz to the space without overdoing it.

4. Update the hardware
Just like with the paint, maybe your cabinetry could use an upgrade in the form of new hardware. Especially those of you with older homes, this is an easy way to modernize your kitchen without a ton of work.
5. Refresh the sink
The faucet is a kitchen focal point, so make it matter. Faucets today can get as fancy as tap to turn on, but you don't have to go that far. Upgrade with statement like bronze or one that accents another aspect of the kitchen.
See? These fixes are affordable and doable for a long weekend project and will help sell your home for more money and more quickly. Need help with staging the kitchen or other spaces? Contact Staging Dallas today!
