Not to be Kitschy, but Let’s Talk Kitchens

Kitchens are one of the rooms that don’t need as much staging, per say, because a lot of it is built-in. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do staging at all. A kitchen is one of the most important rooms to future homebuyers, and it should not be overlooked!

Living in the home while on sale or being completely vacant, it’s hard to gauge just how large or small a kitchen is. Chances are, if you’re living in the home, your kitchen gadgets are everywhere, cluttering the countertops. If it’s vacant, and counters are bare, it’s hard to decipher how functional the kitchen really is.

This is why home staging is magical. See a few examples below of kitchen staging by Staging Dallas that made all of the difference.

Important points:

  • Add jars, plants and/or cookbooks to the countertops to highlight the backsplash, overhead lighting and countertops them selves!

  • Use those items to add pops of color to the kitchen.

  • Maximize countertop space by adding place settings and updated bar stools.

  • Make the kitchen appear livable, but not too lived in. It’s not realistic for there to be absolutely nothing in the kitchen at all!

If you’re still not completely sold, check out this before and after of a kitchen we recently staged.

That particular home was owner-occupied. All it took was putting away most of the items on the counter to really open up the kitchen and showcase its potential!
